Review: Nature Republic Provence Fleur Gel Eyeliner #1 Burgundy
Hi there~
T
oday I am back with something a little different than my other reviews I have made. This will be the first make-up review post on this blog ^^ ~

and I will be reviewing a gel eyeliner pencil from Nature Republic.

I have seen many make-up tutorials from Korean bloggers using this specific eyeliner or another brand but the same colour.
Being honest with you, I was a bit scared to try this out as this is my first time using a different coloured eyeliner other than black or brown. However, the eyeliner does come in another two shades which are brown and plum but I chose burgundy because that was the most raved about.

Not only that, this is also my first time using a gel eyeliner pencil, I usually either stick to a kohl version or the regular gel liners that comes in a pot, so I have nothing really that I can compare it to.

Majority of the box packaging is in Korean, but I decided to take some pictures for you anyway ~ I apologise they're a bit blurry and not that clear but the writing on the box was so tiny >.< but I will write down briefly what the writing on the box contains ~

^ information about what the product does and the main ingredients used and what the purpose of it is ~

^ this side provides the instructions on how to apply in various languages, which include English, Chinese and Japanese and the ingredients listed in English only ~

^ the second part to the back of the packaging is the instructions and precautions in Hangul ~

5 Non Added Formulas
Sulfate, artificial fragrance, talc, formaldehyde, acrylamide

Eco Friendly Paper

Recycle Bin

Braille for the blind

^ I actually love the packaging of the actual pencil a lot ~ it feels very sturdy and not cheap at all ㅋ ㅋ ㅋ ~

This gel eyeliner pencil has two ends, one end is where the eyeliner is and the other end is a sponge tip used to smudge out the eyeliner and create a more smokey and softer effect.

 Looks pretty right?

Like the name the eyeliner is a true burgundy shade, I has a more brown undertone than red which is nice because it's not as harsh and noticeable as a red burgundy.
The eyeliner isn't a matte finish but it doesn't contain any glitter or shimmer particles, it's more of a sheen but still looks natural enough.

The eyeliner is really creamy, when I first swatched it and used it I was surprised by how pigmented and soft the actual pencil is, well I guess it is a gel eyeliner formula after all...

I tested the waterproof/water resistant property to this, and even though this eyeliner doesn't claim to be 'water resistant' I wanted to see if it will run or smudge off when it gets in contact with water. The results are, the eyeliner didn't move, smudge or fade away. Of course, if you rub at it with water it will come straight off though.

I have also tested the transfer holding ability by using a cotton swap and swiping it over where I applied the eyeliner twice and see if it would come off.

As we can see the results from the images above, their is little fading and transfer. However, If you continuously rub on the area you apply it on, your eyeliner may fade, smudge and transfer more than this.

However, I did have some issues with smudging after a few hours of application, so I wouldn't say the lasting power is that great. I have tried other gel eyeliners in pots that last longer than this one, but then again I have never tried anything as similar to this so I can't compare the lasting power to other ones out there in the market at the moment. I would say this eyeliner stays on me for around 5 hours until I start to see a little smudging underneath my eyes from this product.

Colour: 5/5
Pigmentation: 5/5
Texture: 5/5
Lasting Power: 3/5
Effects: 4/5

Overall:

I really love the colour of this, in fact I wish to try some other burgundy coloured eyeliners now and gel eyeliner pencils because the texture is just so lovely and creamy. On a note, when or if you do blend out the eyeliner with the sponge tip, the red/burgundy shade is more noticeable than if you don't blend it.
I would recommend this eyeliner to people who like the semi-smokey make-up look or if you would like to add more depth into the eyes but still want to make it look more natural than contouring your crease and eyelids.
However, the only let down of the product is the lasting power. If lasting for more than 6 hours without facing the smudging issue then I might have given this product a full 5/5. The smudging wasn't intense though, it didn't transfer all onto my lower and upper eyelid or anything. I didn't have any problems with it fading though.

Would I Repurchase: Yes, but I would like to try out other types of gel eyeliner pencil first
