Review: Clarisonic Mia 2 ~
So recently I bought the Clarisonic Mia 2 with my birthday money I had received since for those who are into the beauty industry would have all probably heard about the huge hype of the Clarisonic for years now ~

I have always been debating for around 2-3 years now whether or not to buy a Clarisonic as others have claimed it to be 'a life changing product', but the price always held me back, I mean at the end of the day it is £100+ and not everyone can afford it, especially since I am a student who doesn't have a job, but one day I just thought to myself instead of reading blogs or reviews on websites and YouTube videos about it, I might as well try it out myself as only then I can judge whether I love or hate this device ~ plus there is a 90 day money back guarantee as well ~

DISCLAIMER:  I BOUGHT THIS WITH MY OWN MONEY & THIS REVIEW IS NOT SPONSERED

I bought the Mia 2, though there are like other ones such as the Aria and the Plus, but according to the sales assistant at Space NK she had told me that the Aria is basically like the Mia 2 but with one more speed setting and a 2 minute timer instead of 1 minute, but the normal speed on the Mia 2 seemed fine for me and I can always cheat the system by doing another cycle again. Whilst the plus is obviously more advanced with more settings and can be used on the face and the body, but to be honest I didn't need all those extra features or the brush for the body ~

When first purchased it comes with one sensitive brush head which is included in all the models of the Clarisonic and is the most standard one to use ~

there are four different brush heads to choose from and the experts of Clarisonic suggest we should go for the one that is most suitable for our skin and our needs as well, the brush heads include;

 DEEP PORE/CLEAN BRUSH

Deep clean your skin and tackle blocked pores without harsh cleansers or scrubs with the Clarisonic Deep Pore brush attachment.

One of a range of interchangeable attachments designed to customise your Clarisonic skincare system to cater for your skin type, the Deep Pore Brush Head accessory uses an advanced dual action motion to effectively cleanse oily skin and purify pores, particularly those in hard-to-reach areas of the face, such as the skin around the nose. Compatible with all Clarisonic models, the Deep Pore brush attachment will tackle excess sebum and reduce pore size for a visibly clearer and smoother complexion.

 NORMAL BRUSH

Perfect for normal skin, shaving prep, and for use on the décolleté and body.
The essential first step in your daily skin care ritual, Clarisonic is a professional-caliber brush that uses a gentle sonic micro-massage action to cleanse deeply. Clarisonic gently clears pores without harsh abrasion or chemicals, cleansing so effectively that all of your other skincare products absorb better.
Clinical results include 6x more makeup removed than with manual cleansing, reduced appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles, and improved skin tone.

 SENSITIVE SKIN
One of a range of interchangeable attachments designed to for use with all Clarisonic skincare systems, the Sensitive Skin Brush Head is an excellent way to introduce a Clarisonic tool into your beauty regime, or for those who suffer with easily irritated skin. Perfect for clearing pores and improving skin texture and tone without abrasive chemicals or exfoliants, this gentle brush head will make any Clarisonic system the ideal cleansing solution for sensitive complexions.

 DELICATE BRUSH
Extra-gentle and plush, the Clarisonic Delicate Brush Head is designed for delicate skin prone to irritation and dehydration. Compatible with every model, Clarisonic's facial brush heads vary to accommodate a range of skin types.
It is advised that you should change your brush heads every 3 months or so because the brush would build up odor and bacteria which obviously you don't want it to be transferred onto your skin right?
Anyways, choose a brush that is most suitable for you, but I have to say for me even with the sensitive brush head I find it can be a little too harsh, so I would definitely not go near the deep pore brush...

Plus on a side note if you have Asian skin I would also advise you to stay within the Sensitive-Delicate brush because majority of Asians do have a thinner layer of skin, unfortunately, I will talk about it more thoroughly in depth in a later post which is more suitable ^o^

MANUAL CLEANSING

Make-up Applied: Laneige Pore Control BB Cushion, Tony Moly Gel Fit Waterproof Liner #7 Black, Innisfree Creamy Lip Tint Mousse #4

Cleanser: Biotherm Biosource Hydra Mineral Cleanser
~ Manual cleansing with hands ~

Even though majority of the BB cushion & the lip tint was removed the eyeliner hasn't
budged at all *O* ~

In my own experience for the past few months of using this, I have noticed it had taken off my makeup really well, before I invested in this I had used the double cleansing method which is with:
Cleansing Oil/Cream/Balm + Foam Cleanser
But even when following that, and even sometimes when using a silicone brush which I bought from soap and glory or my Tosowoong Pore Brush, I still had some make up left over on my skin T_T
But now when I finished cleaning my face with the Clarisonic and wipe my face with a cotton pad no makeup is transferred on there, yayyyyy! ^o^

CLARISONIC CLEANSING
Applying same amount of cleanser onto the Clarisonic brush ~

Two speed settings: Regular & Fast
I like the ring light to indicate what speed you are on ~ this also lights up when you are charging it ~ my papa told me one time it looks like a UFO ^O^ ~

After 1 minute of cleansing the skin

I forgot to take a before picture but used the same make-up on my hand ~
I also couldn't take a picture of the cleansing process with the brush because I didn't have a tripod T__T

See all the make up including the eyeliner is all gone with the use of cleansing ~
However, many people had said that this reduces the size of your pores, reduces or removes blemishes, blackheads and whiteheads, I guess it sort of makes sense since you are cleansing your face more thoroughly it should technically pull out all the whiteheads causing the pores to shrink and blackheads to go away and less bacteria and clogged pores would mean less blemishes... But I'm not going to lie to you, my whiteheads and blackheads certainly was not removed, I would say they have reduced but they would always still be there, whereas actually with the Tosowoong Pore Brush I had saw better results... I still get blemishes here and there especially when it's that time of the month & I didn't notice a reduction in the size of my pores either but I have noticed my skin texture has been a lot smoother

MIST: Etude House Blooming Skin Sebum Control Mist
Applied mist on hand WITHOUT the use of clarisonic

Applied mist on hand WITH the use of clarisonic ~ ^o^

Also my skincare items  absorb better into the skin which I think is important since you don't necessarily want to be spending £80 on a serum but if your skin doesn't absorb it, what's the point?

GOOD:
- Makes skin texture a lot smoother

- Makes later skincare items absorb better into the skin to maximize the benefits of them, which normal cleansing with the hands can not do
- Cleanses skin really well and you feel really clean, really removes every trace of makeup on your skin
- Unclogs pores
- Reduces a little amount of blackheads and whiteheads

CONS:

- It's an expensive investment
- The brush heads are expensive to maintain to be purchased every 3 months
- Doesn't reduce blackheads, whiteheads and the size of my pores as well as my Tosowoong Pore Brush did which was a LOTTTTT more cheaper
- Can feel quite abrasive even with the sensitive brush head
- Takes a full 24 hours to fully charge >.<

OVERALL: 4/5

WHO WOULD I RECOMMEND TO?____________________________________________
1) If you wear a lot of makeup, in particular base makeup on a daily basis
2) If you find you still have makeup residue when wiping your face with toner even after you have double cleansed
3) If you congested skin, due to makeup build up or the wrong types of skincare items - this mostly happens when your skincare items are too rich for your skin
4) If you have oily skin or an oily T-zone, cheeks, chin and etc which can cause excess sebum on your face to build up
5) If you are prone to break outs
6) If you have rough skin texture
7) If you DO NOT HAVE REALLY SENSITIVE SKIN
8) If you can afford to keep purchasing the brush heads every 3 months, even if you do not use it everyday once you have used it a couple times I think it's only hygienic to change it after the 3 month span as like I stated before the brush itself will grow bacteria
9) If you find after cleansing your skin your following skincare items do not absorb or perform as well as it should than opposed to when you have scrubbed/exfoliated your skin and then followed on with your skincare items

Would I repurchase: If my device breaks (WHICH I REALLY HOPE DOESN'T HAPPEN SOON) then probably not, there are a lot of other cleanisng tools and devices which I would like to explore and try out, but I would keep repurchasing the brush heads as long as the device still works
