Review: Etude House Baby Choux Base #02 BERRY CHOUX
So recently Etude House has launched a new collection for spring with
F(x)'s Sulli and Krystal endorsing it called the 'Sweet Recipe Line'.I have a sort of love-hate relationship with Etude House, there are some products from them that I totally love and are my holy grail items like their eye shadows but there are also some products which I just didn't get along with at all, so I wasn't all that excited for this.
BUT...
When I saw the CF on TV one day I was sucked in and was so tempted to buy the whole collection, but of course I resisted because I need to save up some money for when I go on holiday ~
The packaging is soooo cute! actually the whole collection is uber cute ~ ^^
It looks like a sweet/candy packaging! ~ ~
English description of the product ^^ ~ I hope you can read it >.< ~
Ingredients in both English and Hangul ^^ ~
I was actually going to go for the #03 peach shade but when I was looking for reviews a lot of them were reviewing for the #02 berry one which is why I went for this one instead.
This product comes in 3 different types/shades; mint, berry and peach which are suitable for your own skin concerns and skin tone.
All the information about this product on the official website is all in Hangul, but I managed to find one that has been translated into English ~
I actually like how this base contains SPF, not all the bases I have tried has this factor, but then again I usually wear sunscreen under this and then sometimes either my foundation and BB cream may also contain SPF as well which means the sunscreen factor may not react as well since we are piling on 3 different SPF's onto our face, so bare that in mind that if you wear this base try and avoid using an actual sunscreen or a BB cream (wow, there's a lot of the word 'sunscreen' in this paragraph >.<" ~ )
The product is like a salmon pink shade which I suppose helps with the brightening of the skin and the texture is like a light whipped cream, a little definitely goes a long way with this and it's pretty thick so if you apply too much you will have a ghost looking like face, you might have to blend some down your neck to make it look even.
It feels like velvet almost too silicone though, so if you are allergic or your skin tends to clog up to silicone based products you may not like this.
The packaging reminds me a lot of the pore eraser product from Etude House back a long long time ago ~
That being said, I do think this particular one is best for paler skin tones as it leaves your skin looking fairly white. I personally don't have the most fairest or whitest skin on the planet but I wouldn't say I am dark/tanned either. And even though the product in the jar looks really pigmented when you pat/rub it into your skin the salmon pink tone disappears which I like because I definitely do not have a pink skin tone.
This also leaves a slight dewy finish onto your skin, it's nothing 'shiny, oily or greasy' but more of a slight glow. Bare in mind, this also depends what type of foundation/BB cream you wear throughout the day.
Since spring is coming along my skin has been getting slightly oilier throughout the day and I will have to touch up here and there, but it actually holds my foundation/BB cream pretty well, I haven't experienced any melting-off-my-face problems when wearing this base, but if you have oily skin type you will either have to set your make-up with a matte finishing spray or with a setting/blotting powder.
Fragrance: 2.5/5
Texture: 3/5
Effect: 4.5/5
Performance/lasting power: 4/5
Overall:
I would recommend this product, if you like that dewy/glowing actress look that we see in a lot of CF's, dramas, MV's in South Korea.
Also a little note for those of you, is the scent. The scent is a very very strong and noticeable artificial like berry smell, It kind of reminds me of one of the L'oreal kids shampoo's that I use to use back when I was younger.
Would I Repurchase: Yes
Take Care ~ ♥
