Review: Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off ~
Today, I will be reviewing the highly raved about SkinFood exfoliator, the black sugar mask wash off. This product has been released for a good few years and when it first came out up until now, this has been one of the best sellers from SkinFood and had received so many praises from the customers who have tried it, so off course being a skin care junkie and a lover of SkinFood cosmetics, especially their skincare items, I had to try this out ~ "Black sugar mask with rich minerals and vitamins to provide luster and smoothness to skin."
One thing I like about the packaging from SkinFood is that they come with English description information as well as Hangul, so those who do not know Hangul/Korean can still be able to understand the instructions and purposes of the product.
Now onto the actual product, now I must say, it might not be the most appealing to look like. It comes in a slushy brown sugary texture, it basically looks a lot like black sugar mixed in with goo and liquid. The smell can also be a huge problem, it's a very strong scent and not everyone will be guaranteed to like it.
I personally, don't mind the scent all that, it smells like a blend of sweetness with a touch of sour and a lot of salt? as weird and nasty as that combination sounds, it didn't really bother me. Although, it's strong it still smells naturalish and not too artificial-perfume-like.
I find with a lot of exfoliators and scrubs that I have used in the past to be too abbrasive on my skin or the particals are too sharp and big that it literally hurts whenever I try to massage my face, but with this product I find the particles to be the perfect size, small and fine. This actually feels like applying a sugar scrub and effectively takes away the layer of dead skin, my skin feels baby soft after using this. Also, the more you massage the exfoliator into your face, the product becomes less abbrasive and the starts to melt away so your left with a liquid texture.
On a side note, Although the particles aren't sharp or big the scrub can be quite harsh, especially those with really sensitive skin.
before using the exfoliator on my hand, you can see some rough flaky dry bits ~

rinse off, and now my skin feels smoother ~ majority of flaky skin... gone! ^^

Overall:
Yet another outstanding product from Skinfood, I really like this exfoliator. Before this I have never tried any black sugar scrubs, but after trying this one I really want to purchase some other ones to compare, especially the klair's one. This exfoliator didn't leave my skin tight or dry once I used it either, unlike a lot of scrubs/exfoliators I have tried, almost all of them stripped all the moisture in my skin off.
However, with this one my skin still felt moisturized which I particularly like. The only thing I dislike though is that the results don't last that long, once you wake up in the morning your skin won't feel as soft, but then again for the price your paying for, you can't be expecting permanent results.
To Use: After cleansing, gently massage over wet face. Avoid eye area. Rinse off.
