REVIEW: LANEIGE BB Cushion Pore Control Summer Edition
I'm sure if you are all interested in Asian makeup and skincare you would have somehow come across the terms BB/CC/Foundation cushions. Laneige has already released two already, first was their soothing bb cushion which has already been discontinued and then later on they came out with a whitening version. I have never tried either of them, since although I love Laneige products and saw this product advertised like crazy, I have read many reviews that Laneige BB cushions are very moisturizing on the skin and are more targeted towards dry skin.So when I heard they released a pore control version for summer 2014 I got overly excited and bought it straight away. I had really high expectations with this product actually due to a blogpost I read from liahyoo and before this, although, I have only reviewed one cushion foundation on this blog I have actually tried 3, the espoir nude slip cushion, iope air cushion and the etude house precious mineral any cushion. Honestly I was quite disappointed with them, they were all too heavy and thick on my face :(

- LANEIGE, KOREA
I have used this a few times already and once when I went into London which I had to take the underground (subway/tube/metro?) and baring in mind for some reason London's underground or in fact transport system apart from taxi's DO NOT HAVE AIR CON >_<" or is it just me... or do they have it and don't turn it on because I am ALWAYS boiling like a piggy in a bus or the underground -_-, anyways aside from that I had walked around London in the beaming sunlight carrying my coat and heavy grocery shopping bags of japanese candy and sushi O_O and felt so sweaty and hot, when I finally reached my train back home I looked in the mirror since I have left the house and was surprised to actually see my foundation was still in place and were no signs of patchiness, it didn't budge at all!! and now that is saying something since majority of all foundations I have tried have melted off my skin or I would look like a grease ball, and I have probably tried every foundation in the market already ranging from mainstream drugstore brands such as; REVLON, MAYBELLINE, BOURJOIS to more high end like DIOR, CHANEL, BOBBI BROWN and etc.
comes with a puff ~ which to me after a couple of uses should be thrown away since it is extremely hard to wash in my opinion ~ >_<"
The cushion inside ~
*shivers* but if you have never seen a cushion foundation before this is basically what it looks like ~ many many tiny holes in the sponge >_<"
Likewise with all cushion foundations this comes with a compact case with a mirror and a separate tray for the air puff (I have already tested out all the cushions that the refills fit in all of the cases, for example the Laneige refills fit in the IOPE case as well... so if you don't want to buy a whole new cushion you can just buy the refill instead)
press press press ~
Inside the cushion foundation is basically liquid foundation ^o^ ~
Press the puff into the product a few times in order to distribute the right amount of product to cover one side of the face ^o^ ~
This should be enough for 1 section of the face ~ I like to do 4 sections, Right cheek, Left cheek, Chin and Nose... I usually leave out the forehead because I don't have anything to cover there
~
~
remember after you dispensed some product to pat it in the skin with tapping motions and DO NOT RUB since the whole purpose of this sponge is for you to tap the product in your skin to give you a more natural, long lasting and thin layer of product ~
Laneige's packaging never fails to disappoint me ^o^ ~ thumbs up for you Laneige!
The lid is sooo cute, it's a light baby blue colour... hehe it looks more special and summery than the other packagings which are usually white :3 or maybe I just care too much about the packaging
REDNESS COVERAGE
As you can tell my bare hand has a lot of redness and uneveness ~ so I will be testing how well this would cover it up ~
This is one thin layer of the foundation and it covered up all of my redness making a smooth base ^^ ~
COVERAGE TESTING
Now I will be testing it's coverage ability to cover any blemishes/dark spots/acne scars/hyperpigmentation/freckles/moles and etc ~
I drew my hand with a black marker & let it set for a few minutes so it doesn't rub off in the process ~
I drew my hand with a black marker & let it set for a few minutes so it doesn't rub off in the process ~
With 1 layer of the product (pumped 3 times) pretty much all of the marker is gone ~ I'm actually really impressed by this
2nd layer (with an additional 3 pump of product) you can not see the marker anymore ~
HOW TO USE:
1. Apply onto puff and smooth along the texture of skin. Then pat to increase adherence. Apply another layer to improve coverage
2. If there is no more content after you press the cushion with your finger, it means the product is finished. Replace with a refill
CAN NOT FIND INGREDIENT LIST FOR PRODUCT... T_T
GOOD:
- Medium-High coverage, covers all of my acne scars and even dark circles
- Gives off a healthy semi matte & isn't too dewy or matte on skin
- Blends evenly and easily even when used as a touch up
- Long lasting even in humid and hot weather
- Good oil control
- Looks best if not set with any powder actually
CONS:
- Although the concept of a 'cushion foundation' is meant to be easy to use, the disadvantage to all BB cushions /cushion foundation forms is that they dry up much quicker than a foundation in a regular tube, bottle or jar
OVERALL:
Duration of use: 1 month
Application: Cushion foundation
Price paid: $42.99 with free refill
Texture: 5/5
Hydration: 4/5
Pore Cover/Control: 5/5
Sebum/Oil Control: 5/5
Coverage: medium-full coverage (buildable)
Lasting ability: 6-7 hours (without touchups or setting with powder)
Fragrance: 4/5 (it's definitely got a scent to it if you put your nose right up to the product lol ~ well to me all the cushion foundations pretty much smell the same to me tbh O_O... it got a slight perfumey scent to it that isn't too strong, it smells floral with a slight sweetness added to it)
RATING 5/5
Other Comments:
This product leaves a slight sheen on the face, nothing compared to the Espoir, IOPE and etude house ones, but it's a subtle healthy glow so it's not entirely matte, I just wanted to point that out because the name is quite misleading and can easily be misunderstood for having a matte finish.
It also has a nice cooling effect to the skin and makes your skin look healthy and flawless, the coverage is actually surprisingly good considering the previous Laneige base products all have minimum coverage.
WHO WOULD I RECOMMEND TO?____________________________________________
Although this product is targeted more towards oily/combination skin, I would say this also works for dry/combination skin as well, especially if you get oily in your T-Zone and/or if you generally have large pores.
Would I Repurchase: Yes

REVIEW: Laneige Water Bank Essence ~
Howdy everyone ^o^ ~ well this is embarrassing to say... how long have I not posted on here for O___O" please forgive me >_< But at least summer is here and since I am not going on holiday this year I thought I would spend my time blogging and catching up instead... of course if you have read my previous blogs you would know that last year I bought a heck a lot of things when I went to Hong Kong and a lot if not majority of stuff has been used up already T___T but am looking into repurchasing a few things already because my skin loved it so much ^o^ ~
Anyways, one of the things I have tried for around 1 and a half months now is the Laneige Water Bank Essence. I have always heard about this serum being talked about amongst Asian YouTubers such as Bubzbeauty or bloggers, Laneige actually is one of the first Korean skincare brands that I have tried since but I was too busy trying other new beauty products that I had forgotten how much I loved the brand itself.
INFORMATION/CLAIMS:
Long-lasting moisture essence with Water Pump System, for moisture circulation to leave the skin moisturized and smooth.
For Moist and Crystal-clear skin.
- A 24 hour long-lasting essence that contains mineral water for skin regeneration and Water Pump System for moisture circulation to safeguard skin moisture and hold it in to leave the skin moisturized and smooth.
- Instantly dampens the skin with ample moisture and forms a natural moisture barrier on skin surface to protect the moisture that is in the skin.
- Contains chestnut extracts and seaweed extracts to enhance keratin turnover to fight roughness and energizes the skin for a smooth and healthy texture.
DIRECTIONS___________________________________________________
- Dispense appropriate amount (o.3ml) after using the emulsion
- Gently spread from the center of the face towards the contours.
- Cover the entire face with both hands to enhance penetration.
before application of the product ~ hehehehe ^^
One pump of the product (I usually use two pumps for my whole face & neck) ^^ ~
After spreading and tapping in the product onto my hand ~ skin is a lot more hydrated and soft
~
~
It's texture is lightweight and thin, I believe it is water based rather than oil based so it doesn't feel heavy and definitely won't clog up your pores especially if you have oily skin, I have dehydrated skin as well as oily/combination so I need something that would hydrate it well.
I love the packaging and the design of this bottle, however, it's made of glass and although it looks beautiful on your vanity, traveling with it won't be as economical and safe.
I use this product mainly at night time because it is quite moisturizing and since my skin gets quite oily, this wouldn't work well under makeup unless you have normal/dry skin.
It has a cooling and soothing effect as soon as you apply it on your skin, your skin will have an instant effect of a water glow (even though in the picture it's not the best example, since my hands are 5x drier than the skin on my face), if you are familiar with Song Hye Kyo's skin in photos or her dramas/films it's a similar glow to that. But when you wake up your skin feels a lot more plumped like you had 9 hours sleep and feels so bouncy which I love.
INGREDIENTS:
WATER, GLYCERIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, GLYCERETH-26, SQUALANE, DIMETHICONE, TRISILOXANE, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, BETA-GLUCAN, MAGNESIUM SULFATE, MANGANESE SULFATE, COCAMIDE MIPA, ZINC SULFATE, SALICORNIA HERBACEA EXTRACT, ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) EXTRACT, ZEAMAYS (CORN) KERNEL EXTRACT, CASTANEA SATIVA (CHESTNUT) SEED EXTRACT, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) GERM EXTRACT, GLYCOGEN, GLUTAMIC ACID, GLYCERYL OLEATE, DIMETHICONAL, LYSINE HCL, MANNITOL, BETAINE, BETHENYLALCOHOL, SUCROSE, STEARYL BETHENATE. CITRULLINE, ALANINE, ARGININE, AMMONIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYLTAURATE/VP COPOLYMER, CALCIUM CITRATE, SERINE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, INULIN LAURYL CARBAMATE, ISOPROPYL PALMITATE, CHONDRUS CRISPUS (CARRAGEENAN), HISTIDINE HCL, THRERONINE, TRETHALOSE, PHENYLTRIMETHICONE, POLYGLYCERYL-3 METHYLGLUCOSE DISTEARATE, POLYSORBATE 20, POLYSILICONE-11, PROPANEDIOL, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, PCA, PCA DIMETHICONE, PEG-15 PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA(LAURETH-6 CARBOXYLATE), PEG/PPG-17/6 COPOLYMER, HYDROGENATED C6-14 OLEFIN POLYMERS, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, HYDROXYETHYL ACRYLATE/SODIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYL TAURATE COPOLYMER, HYDROXYPROPYL BISPALMITAMIDE MEA, DISODIUM EDTA, PHENOXYETHANOL, CHLORPHENESIN, FRAGRANCE
GOOD:
- Lightweight texture, suitable for even oily dehydrated skin
- Can't really smell the product after a few minutes of applying it to my skin
- Doesn't dry out my skin & keeps it hydrated throughout the skin
- Doesn't make my face feel greasy
- Makes my face feel more plump and bouncy
- Does what it claims on the packaging
- Hasn't caused me to break out
CONS:
- Does not sit well under makeup because it can be too rich for oily/combination skin
- Needs to be applied straight after you wash and tone your face, otherwise it's hard for it to sink into the skin
- It contains silicone and dimethicone which some people are allergic to and would clog up your pores which causes breakouts
- The long list of chemical ingredients used in this product (if you are ones who prefer nature vs science)
OVERALL
Fragrance: 3/5 - it's got that distinctive Laneige scent to it, if you have used Laneige products you will understand what I am saying, but it quite highly fragranced which could irritate those with sensitive skin.
Texture: 5/5
Hydration: 5/5
Effectiveness/claims: 5/5
Overall: 5/5
WHO WOULD I RECOMMEND TO?__________________________________________
it would fit most skin types, but normal skin and possibly if you have dry skin you may need more product, and also if you have oily/combination skin BUT YOUR SKIN IS FAIRLY OR VERY DEHYDRATED!
would I repurchase: Yes
Have a nice day ~ ♥

Hong Kong Haul Pt 2: Laneige ~
I've always been a fan of Laneige cosmetics and I have always wanted to try a lot more of their products but unfortunately here in the UK we don't have access to them like many other countries do like in the US where they have amore pacific ~ I wish we had that over here T_T again with the same disclaimer as my Etude House haul if you haven't seen it already it's here ~
Anyways ~ So before I went on this trip I had a few items I wanted to buy ~ and for this haul, I did spend A LOT as well and in one setting and I feel bad for it now :/ I was kind of prepared for this though because I already calculated the cost of the products before I went ~
However, I have lost the receipt for this but I will check the item pricing on Laneige's HK website and post it on here for you all ~ all price listing is in HKD $
Laneige Snow Crystal Dual Foundation SPF22/PA+ #13 True Beige
~ $280
Laneige Trouble Relief Cream
~ $300
Laneige Trouble Relief Toner ~$240
I wasn't originally going to get this, it wasn't on my list but I had to spend over a certain amount to get this free item so I though OK why not then...
Laneige Brightening Sun Powder SPF50+/PA+++ ~
Retail Price: $260
This was the free item I was talking about
Silk Intense Lipstick #SYR36 ~ $210
After I saw Song Hye Kyo wear this I knew I had to have it
Laneige Water Bank Essence ~ $310
I was hesitating whether to get this because I have received so many samples from my previous purchases and ended up getting it because I remembered how much I loved this
Laneige Pore Tightening Essence ~ $260
Laneige White Plus Renew Original Essence ~
$400
This had a lot of good and rave reviews on it so I am hoping it does what it promises, my mum also wanted to try this haha XD
And a ton of samples ~ Laneige is a pricey brand so it looks like I didn't buy a lot but a lot of the items were quite expensive :/
